Good decision
We received a new child today. The courts again are making foolish decisions. Josue and Aroldo had to take one of the dialysis children to Tikisaki to meet with the family of one of the dialysis children. The parents want him to return but they cannot provide the…
Resurrection
Jim presided over The Lord's Supper on Easter Sunday. Mario led praise then the younger children received communion followed by a Bible message and concluding with the older children and adults taking communion. We read of the Resurrection in the Gospels and the book of Mark Jesus tells…
Landslide
A new interstate built around Chimaltenango and yesterday we had a light earthquake which caused the land on the sides to cave in. It completely covered both lands at a depth of 4 to 8 feet. No one was hurt but traffic had to be rerouted. The dialysis…
HUMILITY
Compared to the last few days today was very quite. In fact I spent a great portion of the day listening to messages by Jeremiah and Stanley as well as reading writings by Andrew Murray. I am not as humble as I should be so I studied scriptures…
Meditate
It seems as if all of the dorms have plastic swimming pools and are just having a blast. I took Dottie to buy groceries for the first time in 3 months. The women use to all go together but most have left. Then I had a business meeting…
Holiday
Andreas took the collage boys swimming in Baja Vera Pass while Dave and Amy took their dorm to the zoo. The office staff gets off at noon today. Transition, Esperanza and Cometas had big plastic swimming pools. Brenda with Dottie and I
Time past
I can remember back to 1989-92 when Dottie and I were the only ones here with as many as 75 children. We were younger and full of vim and vigor. Now we are aging and it seems we have returned to the early days. Your prayers for more…
Swimming pool
Brenda left today and she will be missed so much by the staff, children and babies. The toddlers loved Papa Alan and of course do not understand why he is not here. We had a gift of furniture for Estrellitas. In a month Dave and Amy will leave…
It was sweet
The memorial for Alan was very special and showed just how special he was to the children. 22 children wrote and read a tribute to Alan and there were many were tears. He was so loved by staff and children. Heidy, music instructor, fell and broke her arm.…
Remembering Alan
Jim and Josue took a bus of boys to see the drama, The Way of the Cross, at one of the largest Christian churches in Central America. It seems as though everyone on campus is helping Brenda with the preparation for the memorial service for Alan. The staff…
Kitchen
I worked on lessons and then Billy, Dorcas, Josue and I worked on the March report. A group of staff and older children are helping Brenda prepare for the memorial service this Sunday. The funeral services will be held in Texas when Brenda and her son return home.…
Sadness
Yesterday's update did not get sent until 2pm central standard. If you did not read it please go back and read about Alan Stone who died from heart failure. He was truly a man that every child loved. He was a gentle man with a deep love for…
Alan and Brenda
Alan Stone who with his wife, Brenda, are dorm parents for the baby dorm passed away this morning. He has struggled with heart disease for years. Pray for Brenda. Her son will be here tonight (Wednesday). Alan would give each toddler 1q to put in the offering plate.…
Alex
Alex who was adopted years ago from Casa is a junior at Louisiana Tech and is now engaged to be married. He and his family are coming to Casa in July. Another boy adopted from Casa, Jefferson, will be coming with his father. We have a second broken…
Cleft palate
Josue and one of our social workers took one of our 4 year olds to a specialist because he was born with a cleft palate and the surgery was botched before he came to Casa. He will have surgery in April. Pray with us that the new surgery…
Dottie’s relatives
Jim is back for two weeks and will be taking his discipleship students to see The Way of the Cross at a local church. Dottie had some relatives from Austin come by for church and to play with the children. Sheldon & Diane provided pizza and games.
Dental team
God doesn't do anything halfway. He loves you too much to leaving you lacking in this life. When you give your heart to Him, He gives you Himself completely. We received two new children and the little girls has cried for hours. Our dental suite
New Trucks
Absolute sadness as the courts sent Greiselda home because she is 18. She is on dialysis and so it is a death sentence. Dottie and I went to look for a quinceanera dress. The two new trucks arrived. They were so needed. Oneisy and Hiedi
Alan
Alan was taken to the hospital but returned. Needs our prayers! The entity over homes for children says we need to separate the director from the legal representative. We have made Billy director and Josue legal representative. I had a lot less stress then.
I know everyone is hurting
Since Covid began and the prices have all risen we are not receiving the amount of money sufficiently as in the past. Could you please pray hearts would be touched so that we can continue to reach children. The shoes we need for boys are for older teenage…
