I was able to preach a little longer today. I am not as weak as I have been although I am having trouble with my teeth. I do not look forward to the root canal tomorrow.

One of the best boys we have had chose to go home a few weeks ago. Today he contacted us to tell us that his family will not send him to school as they promised. They want him to work instead. Sadly we try to get the older kids to understand the reality of returning to their families,

How do we approach the death of a young man or woman? If they died in their 30s, 40s or 50s did they die too soon? So many people ask questions as to why a person dies young. Jesus died at 33 years of age and what was said of Him is found in John 17:4 “I have finished the work which you have given me to do”.

Life is not about duration but about donation. Jorge’ & Byron both died in their 20s here at Casa. But Jorge’ was the young boy who at age 12 told me we needed to build churches and homes for pastors. He organized the children and over 100 buildings have been constructed.

Byron was the young man who taught the teenagers more about praise and worship than any other person to pass through Casa. Both young men died before their24th birthday. To us they were lives cut short but to Jesus they were lives well lived.

You do not need a long life to lead a good life.
