How not to quit #4

A number of young people came for church today following the death of Eddy. The loss of a young person has a sobering affect on all of us. Dottie fixed gumbo which feeds a large number so it was perfect. A number of the visitors stayed and spoke with me about their own circumstances. In all the years Eddy was here I never once had to discipline him which says so much about his character and why he was so well loved. He received Christ years ago when a VBS team from Escatawpa, Ms. came. There is no doubt but that he is with Jesus & no longer ill.

DL Moody returned from church services late one evening to find his wife already in bed. She asked him how did the service go and his answer was, “Good! We had 2 and ½ converts”. She asked him, “How old was the child?” and his answer was, “Oh no. It was 2 children and one adult”.

She said, “I do not understand. What do you mean?” “The children have their entire lives in front of them and the adult has already used up many years”.

That is so true isn’t it? We, as adults, do not have years and years in front of us as children do. We need to decide now that we will not quit using each day as a precious gift of God in which to serve Him.
