SLICE

I was wrong when I said the Maryland team had arrived yesterday. It was Estela who arrived last night.

The work on dismantling the playground is going well. I thought the digging up of the concrete on the playgrounds would be difficult. But these young people made it look easy.

If you want to know how God prepared me for Guatemala you can read an article on us in 1987 in the Lake Charles American Press entitled S.L.I.C.E. which was our ministry then. SLICE meant SOUTH LOUISIANA I CARE ENOUGH. It speaks of an orphanage we had then in the homes of our congregation.

It said then that I wanted 100 homes and little did I know He was speaking of 100s of children here!! It was 2 years later that God spoke to about Guatemala.

Another name for JESUS is found in Romans 8:38-39. “For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in CHRIST JESUS OUR LORD.”

This is one of the more inspiring passages in all that the writer, Paul in all his writings. Generations of Christians have claimed this promise that no force on earth or heaven is strong to break the grip of God´s love on their lives.  Paul strung together 3 separate names or titles of God the Son – CHRIST the anointed One or Messiah, JESUS was His personal name, meaning GOD IS SALVATION and Lord which means His unlimited power and dominion that Jesus shares with His Father.
