63 years of smiles

A wonderful day of remembrance. Dottie & I were married on February 10, 1963. There were only 5 people besides us at the wedding. Dottie´s parents, her sister and husband and my Dad. We were married in Crossett, Arkansas and drove straight back to Natchitoches, Louisiana where I was studying at Northwestern.
There are times I think of the intimacy we had with her parents. Her Dad led me to a knowledge of Jesus.
I worked in special education. But 3 years later her father ordained me, and I began my ministry at Horseshoe Drive Baptist Church in Alexandria, La.
I still am amazed at how God took us to many churches and how He orchestrated Dottie and I finding a heart for Guatemala and now 63 years later it has been quite a ride.
My heart is so filled today at the memories and miracles over the years and the many children we took care of and the many visitors who worked so hard to build Casa. What a gathering it will be one day in heaven!!!
Larry and Sue called Sunday and both Dottie and I were so blessed an although we can not travel to stay in their home as we did in years past when we ministered all over North Carolina.
“And he said, nay but as CAPTAIN OF THE HOST OF THE LORD am I now come. And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and did worship, and said unto Him, what sayeth my Lord unto His servant.” Joshua 5:14. This was the mysterious name by which the messenger of the identified Himself to Joshua as the Israelites prepared to enter Canaan.
Isaiah 63:9 refers to as ANGEL OF HIS PRESENCE. This name of Jesus is military language. After Moses died, Joshua became the new leader of Israel. This named assured Joshua that h e would be successful in battle as they entered the promised land.
