Staff Breakfast

Lots of smiles at the staff breakfast. Dottie prayed a beautiful prayer over Orlando and Kimberly.

Schools closed for violence in Guatemala. 8 policemen were shot by gangs today_

Last night was incredible. Dottie woke me up laughing and she had taken off her socks, diapers and pajama bottoms. I was freezing and she said that she was hot. For the life of me I have no idea how she managed to remove her clothing as she cannot move her legs normally.

We still have a couple of days of work needed on our school. I believe that the children are excited about getting back in the classroom.

There has been a strong increase in Dottie´s verbal skills as well as her understanding. She is still crippled from the waist down, but her vocal and mental abilities are improving. Adela has done a remarkable job these past 16 months.

With Dottie getting regular verbal interaction with Adela, Caroline, Tony, Quique, Jacquiline, Shandi, Orlando and Kimberly as well as therapy from Julietta and of course with my teasing her constantly she is getting stronger in her cognitive abilities. She still has that joyful spirit.

What makes it so wonderful is that Dottie is not just sitting or lying in bed but is constantly being in therapy, taken outside and involved in conversation. She is not healed by cognitively we see a great improvement. We have such a good team taking care of Dottie.

When I feel weak, I realize “The Lord is my STRENGTH and song, and he is be come my salvation…my father´s God, and I will exalt him. (Exodus 15:2.) This verse is part of the passage known as the Song of Moses. (Exodus 15: 1-19). Moses led the Israelites to sing this song of praise to the Lord after He rescued

Them from the pursuing army of Pharoah at the Red Sea. There is no shortage of power in the God we serve. And He invites us to partake of His strength in our times of need. Psalm 46:1, (God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”
