Jacqeline is our newest nurse. She is saved and just has fallen in love with Dottie. She works Tuesdays and Saturdays for 11 hours. Whoever located her and brought her here gave us a great blessing.
Sunday, I continued the 7-part teaching on the seven words to change your family. I began with FORGIVENESS which I have learned over the years that marriages and families cannot exist without forgiving one another. Second is BLESSING. Growing up I longed for my Mother´s approval. Seldom did it come but wonderfully I had a father that spoke blessings into my life.
Third is HONOR which is the 5th commandment God gave to Moses. Honor your father and mother. The fourth word is TRUTH. Pilate asked Jesus ,“What is truth”. Jesus would say that He was the way, the truth and the life. Lies should never be a part of family life.
Yesterday I taught on CHURCH which is 5th word to build our families. Every family needs to be faithful to their church. That is where Fellowship with other Christians and learning the Word of God makes the family what it should be.
There are two more words to make a family a joyful place. It was so cold in Bible today but the children paid attention.
PORTION is the next name of God. Psalm 119:57, “Thou art my PORTION, O Lord: I have said that I would keep thy words.” Portion occurs in the Bible in connection wit inheritance rights. Each of the 12 tribes of Israel received a portion of the land of Canaan as an inheritance the Lord had promised (Joshua 19:9).
In Jesus´ parable of the prodigal son, the youngest son asked his father for his portion or share of the estate ahead of time. An inheritance on earth can be lost but the inheritance from God is forever.
