Another name for God is SHOPHET which is simply JUDGE. Justice is ultimately rooted not in a collection of laws or rules but in the very character of God. Psalm 94:15, “Judgement will again be founded on righteousness, and all the upright in heart will follow it.” The Hebrew verb (sha-phat) can be translated in a variety of ways, including judge, govern, vindicate, decide, defend and deliver. But the broader meaning is rule or ruler. Have you ever been accused of some offense that you never committed?’ I have gone through a difficult time of false accusation. How did I survive?
