Shandi

Cook Baptist and the Rustin, La. team has come for years.

It is a blessing to announce that Esvin and Flor are joining our staff. Esvin is the brother of Fernando and Mario and will be maintenance coordinator with Colton. Flor will be in the kitchen. I married them here at Casa years ago and they have two sons. The three of them were some of the first 20 children to arrive over 33 years ago along with Estela their sister.

Today, Monday, I gave my testimony to the large Tennessee team.

The Louisiana team had an optometrist, and he examined eyes and provided glasses if needed. That is always a need since most children who come to Casa have never had eye exams. That team also went to Antigua Saturday.

The North Carolina team left after Bible.

One of our older girls, Shandi, spent the day with Adela learning how to care for Dottie. Adela begins Saturday classes as she finishes her thesis for her psychology degree. Shandi will help Dottie on Saturdays.

Another name for Jesus is LIGHT OF THE WORLD found in John 8:12. “Then spoke Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that follows me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life”. Jesus is the light.

Jesus’ radiance reveals God. Knowing Jesus is to know and see what God is like. Those who follow Him will not walk in darkness. John 1:4-5 and Hebrews 1:3 tell us Jesus is the Bright Morning Star, the Light and Radiance of God´s Glory.

This metaphor signifies Jesus as the source of truth, guidance and God´s presence, offering hope and direction to believers. It implies that if we follow Him it will lead to a life free from darkness and sin.
