Joy or happiness

University girls singing happy birthday.

Sunday, I preached about joy. Happiness and joy are not the same thing. Happiness is a fleeting emotion, tied to external circumstances and specific events.  Joy is a deeper, more enduring sense of well-being and contentment, rooted in internal factors and a sense of purpose.

Happiness is triggered by positive external events like winning a game or receiving a gift. Normally it fades away quickly.

Joy is a more profound and lasting emotion, often described as a sense if deep contentment and satisfaction with life. Joy can be present even when external circumstances are negative. Dottie is a beautiful example of a life of JOY.

The university students began their new semester, so we are back to normal.

Adelda goes to class, so she has taught Shandi how to care for Dottie. These girls are so willing to help with Dottie and our boys, Orlando, Tony and Quique are tremendous help as well as loving sons.

We are going to miss Cindy as she left for NC however in three months she will return for a month.

Dottie went to church and had lunch with the family and then was so weak we worried about her. I have never seen her like this.

A very common name for Jesus is MESSIAH. In John 1:41 it tells us that Andrew, Peter´s brother, “Went and found his own brother Simon, and saith to him, “We have found the Messiah, which is interpreted the Christ”. In John 4:25 the woman at the well said, “I know that Messiah cometh, which is called Christ: when He comes, He will tell us all things”. You can see here that Christ is referred to as the Teacher.

Messiah is the Hebrew word translated into Greek as Christ. Both words mean “Anointed One” or one especially appointed by God for His plan and purpose.
