Ana´s Pastry

Dottie and Ana
Ana came to Casa 23 years ago. She is possibly the most neglected child to ever come here. She finished high school and stayed on to work for Casa and after all these years she is leaving.
I will never forget her words on her second day here. She said, “Papi, you are the first person to ever hold me. My parents, grandparents and other family members never wanted to hug me”.
She has 3 degrees from culinary school and wants to open a pastry shop. I wish her a Godly husband and a great future.
We had a special visit from Kendra who spent 3 months here years ago. She sang old Baptist hymns with Dottie and Dottie was so happy. I remember when Dottie´s mother was in a nursing home and with dementia we visited her and Dottie began singing old Baptist hymns and soon her mother sang with Dottie. Those were the only words she said while we were there. That was the last time we saw her before I performed her funeral.
Orlando and I went to the bank. Then we had a very long conversation about the future. Dottie is the main source of our conversations of course. But Orlando is a solid Christian and a responsible adult, and I know that God is going to use him.
The 11th responsibility that we have for others is to consider one another. Paul writes in I Thessalonians 4:18 “Wherefore comfort one another with these words.” Paul is referring to everything written to the Thessalonians. He heavily teaches about our deaths and entrance into heaven. I will be 82 years old on July 11 so the words of the Bible bring me great comfort. I see how to prepare to meet the Heavenly Father.
