Posting problems
I am having trouble with this update posting so I am reposting.
21st: Yesterday was Easter and Josue’ ministered the Lord´s supper to everyone. This was followed by Markko preaching. I have been very tired lately with caring for Debbie and I wanted to just sit and enjoy the ministry. It was so special.
Bubba and Carlos came to church and stayed for lunch because Adela was making gumbo and they wanted to learn.
Sadly one of our boys who left here 6 years ago and eventually made it to the US was caught recently by immigration and sent back to Guatemala. He then tried to go back to the US and was killed in Mexico last week.
I want to share a few days with you about the purpose of the Bible. First, in Romans 10:17 that faith comes by hearing by the Word of God. Salvation is the very first reason for the Bible. We begin at creation (Genesis) and go all the way until the end of time and our future in eternity. (Revelation).
The Bible is the basis of our faith. It tells us the story of why God created us, how to live and what we will enjoy in eternity. If you never read the Bible you will have no foundation upon which to stand and nothing to look forward to in eternity. There are over 5,000,000,000 in the world today- It is the most read book in the world.
22nd:
We had a very heavy rain Sunday night which was greatly needed.
Dottie´s hands are very weak, and her fingers have trouble making a fist. She sleeps a lot but still has that joy, laughter and fight. Today she could not stand even with the help of Julietta and Adela.
The second purpose of the Bible is to make us wise to salvation. II Timothy 3:15 says “And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith in Jesus Christ”. I was raised in a home where we never read the Bible.
In fact, we did not even read the Bible in church, so I was very ignorant of the Word, and it was when I met Dottie and began reading the Bible at 18 years of age that is saw I was lost and needed a Savior. The Bible gives you wisdom and without it you do not understand how to be saved. Read 3 chapters daily and 4 on Sunday and you will read the Bible completely in one year.
My happy days
