Birthday girl

As we awaken today, 27th of April 2025, Dottie is officially 82 years old. The men in my family rarely lived to 80 so I am so blessed that Dottie, and I have had a long and happy marriage. Although we are amid the most difficult struggle of our 62 years of marriage I have no complaints.

I was reading a pamphlet written by Thomas Wilcox who lived from 1621 to 1687. He writes, “To say Í am a sinner is easy´ but to say with the publican, ´Lord be merciful to me a sinner ‘is the hardest prayer in the world. It is easy to say, “I believe in Christ” but we must read, live and study His Word daily.

All of the children had activities with a local church. This is every other Saturday.

The sixth purpose of the Bible is to produce faith to accept Jesus Christ. Romans 10:17 says “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. If you do not read the Bible, you have no idea how to live every day and for eternity.

The first days of college were sad for me because I knew no one. The 42nd day I walked to the student union to purchase a post office box. The postman said that I had a letter. I was shocked. It was from my father, and it was the greatest letter of encourage of my life. He told me he was proud of me and knew I would succeed.

That letter motivated me to being a better student. Read the Bible because Jesus is encouraging you to be a better Christian. I think instantly I became a better son, student and eventually a better Christian and one day a better husband and father.

Wasn´t Dottie pretty?
