History
It is so unbelievable that Dottie and I came to Guatemala 32 years ago. I was born in South Louisiana while Dottie was raised in Southern Arkansas. We were nothing alike and our families could not have been more different. Due to circumstances it takes too long to tell you here Dottie wanted to go to a Christian college in Arkansas and I was hoping for a chance to to to the University of Tennessee but we both ended up at Northwestern.
The first day I saw her I fell totally in love. She rejected me but eventually I met her father and he explained salvation to me. Dottie and I dated, married, went to California where our first child died from heart disease. I then graduated from the University of Florida. Later I again to preach and we came to Guatemala. The last 32 years have been filled with both sadness and much more gladness.
I have always marveled how God took a South Louisiana teenager and gave him the love of his life from Arkansas so that thousands of children could hear the Word of God.
Over 100 homes for pastors, churches and Sunday schools have been constructed. And the blessing of having hundreds of teams come to help and connect with children has been another miracle.
Even at age 84 I wish that I could reverse the clock and do it all again.
I am not sure you know that Oscar who graduated as an architect provides jobs everyday for the college boys. This is their daily gift to Casa. So for the last 18 months they have stepped in for the teams not here.
