#448 Our story
Dottie and I did not realize how tired we would be. We drove nearly 500 miles yesterday & slept this morning until 7:30am.
We did a little shopping & washed clothes as we are preparing for the last two weeks here.
We will be at First Generation Baptist Sunday in DeCatur, Illinois at 10:30am until 3pm.
There is only one month left of school so the teachers are praying the kids finish strong.
11/23/2001. Karl D. and his family arrived which is great because he is a mechanic and we have so many vehicles for him to work on. You can imagine the wear and tear on the vehicles with a population of 500. A rumor began and caught on like wildfire. The article in the national newspaper was “Children for sale for $1000”. A team arrived from Cornerstone church in Toledo, Ohio.
They are here to present a vacation Bible school all week. A judge from Tapachula Mexico called and asked if we would take a 5 year old girl whose mother is a prostitute. They believe the mom is from Guademala. The mother has this child, a two year old and is pregnant and lives on the streets.
11/24. Stacey from Bayou Vista, La. and his son have extended their plane tickets as they have been putting siding on the new building and want to finish before leaving. The teenagers helped to put the roof on the new dorm. The Toledo team helped us sort shoes to be given away to the poor. The Buckner Home in Dallas gave is thousands of pairs of shoes to give away.
11/25. David and I went to three villages, Huehuetenango, Xela and Zacapa and handed out 3000 pairs of shoes. Steve brought 1000 pairs to Remar. They have a home children as well as a ministry to alcohol and drug abusers. Brennen took 1000 pairs to the First Lady’ office.
The vacation Bible school began with a boom. The children loved it and we are believing that many children and teens will be saved this week.
