#425 our story

We are preparing for our trip home & today Michelle came down with tonsillitis .

Would you believe that the false tooth that fell out was put back together & put back in place by the dentist who comes on Wednesday each week to Casa. He did it in 30 minutes & guarantees it will last another two years. 61 years and I am sure Dr. Laprarie is proud.

Today I wrote update #500. Can you believe I have written 500 and I am only up to April, 2003?

A wagon full

9/4/2002. Today we ministered at Good Shepherd with Pastor Mike in Pass Christian, Ms. They have been faithful supporters for years ever since Jerry C. began coming to Guatemala. This is the church from which Carlos and Polly came. I have been ill for a few days and I believe it is due to the air conditioned buildings where we shop for Christmas and then standing in the oppressive heat as we box and load the items into the container to be shipped. In Guatemala a number of children are ill with a high fever.

9/5. We were able to have breakfast with Pastor Rodney and Rhonda who have brought the most amazing Vacation Bible Schools to Casa for years. Hundreds of children have accepted Jesus under their ministry. Dr. Buck asked me to come to his office for a check-up. I needed it! We shared with Anita and the Gulf Port Rotary Club. From there we went and did a live interview on WAOY radio with Roy. The radio station along with Bob B. are holding a diaper drive for Casa. In Guatemala our boys played for the area soccer championship but lost in a shoot out.

9/6. We slept late (7am) and then drove to a Messianic Christian Book Store in Hoover, Alabama. From there we drove to Bill and Ann’s home to spend a few days resting. In Guatemala Ronnie and Vickie arrived from Texas.

9/7. Bill and I went fishing and were able to catch 16 bass and one catfish. Dottie and Ann prepared them and it was a great meal. Being out in the country and fishing daily was such a blessing.  We needed this time of rest so much.
