#423 Our story

Many of you know Gabby who is crippled & lives down the road. She is blind in her left eye & today she is having surgery on the right eye due to a growth inside the eye.

Billy ministered in my place Sunday.

God has called me to a fast. It concerns my health. I would appreciate it if you would consider fasting one day a week for me.

Pray for Dave & Regina’s daughter, Amie, who is having brain surgery Tuesday.

9/1/2002. Today is Sunday and we ministered at Friendship Baptist in Grand Bay, Alabama with Pastor Teddy who is absolutely the most dedicated University of Alabama fan on earth. So God was testing my love for others different than me. We ministered in Moss Point, Mississippi that evening wit Curtis. Back in Guatemala Carlos took the top 18 academic students to the beach. The teens helped Juan put the trusses on the new school rooms. David preached and he and Carlos will alternate teaching while I am gone.

9/2. Dottie and I met up with Mike & Marlene Borja in Gulfport and went Christmas shopping. Mike has graciously offered to have two forty foot containers staged that we can fill and he will coordinate with Jerry to ship to Guatemala. The first container will be shipped in two weeks. In Guatemala Moises and Juan Vinicio were taken to forensics to check the amount of brain damage they suffered at the hands of their father.

9/3. Today was the most wonderful day imaginable as a Catholic nun called to tell me she was the chaplain at the correctional institute in Leakesville, Ms. She asked me to come and minister to the inmates. She also said that she listened to me on the radio everyday and thus knew I was in Mississippi. I will tell you what happened in tomorrow’s update. In Guatemala there were problems with our water well so they determined the pump was just too small for our growing population
