#299 our story

The Doncillas girls slept in and then had a picnic breakfast.

It was so funny today as the teens were playing volleyball. Two boys actually returned the ball with their feet. Soccer skills!

Jim and Donavon showed “The Passion of Christ”.

4/20/2001.  I took Augustine, Jennifer, Otto and baby Walter to have brain scans done due to them having seizures. Ten years later Otto will die from a severe seizure where he fell and hit his head. We would receive two new children today.

But at this point I want to tell you an unbelievable story. A teenager was brought here by the police. She was sexually abused by those same policemen. I reported it to the judge and they were arrested. But the unbelievable part of this story is that this girl was raised many miles from Casa by a very abusive father. He punished her by holding open her eye lids and hitting her eyeball with wire.

When she was 14 her aunt visited and realized what was happening. She put money and her phone number in a can, buried it and told the teen that if she had an opportunity to escape then go the city and call that number.

She did and another unbelievable event occurred. She found her aunt and the very first night she was raped by her uncle. She ran away and the police who abused her brought her to Casa. Everyday she would go to the baby dorm. I followed her and she was in a rocking chair with 4 babies in her arms. She looked at me and said, “I never want them to feel what I felt”.

Later that night there were 20 or so teens in my living room when she walked in. I motioned for her to sit on my lap. As I held her she whispered in my ear, “You are the first person to ever hug me”. I cried myself to sleep.

Today, 2019, she is married and has a child. She and her husband attend a strong Christian church. I will forever remember her saying, “You are the first person to hug me”.
