#226 our story

I met with Josue’, Billy & Sebastian.

Josue’ took us to the airport. Due to the late flight we arrive in Lake Charles at 10:30pm.

I was reading Psalms today & in 105:5 God says to remember His works. Realizing that we just celebrated our 30thyear in Guatemala and the hundreds of children who have come through the gates and received Christ as Savior sends chills through my body. What a tremendous blessing Dottie and I would have missed if we had not made this journey. Many of you have been responsible for many of those salvations.

Right now I am the airport in Houston and we are waiting our flight to Lake Charles which will leave here at 9:30pm. We are tied as it has been a long day and is not yet over.

Alex, Sarah and son, Jimmy, with Dottie and me.

September 1, 1999 was a laugh. We just had three large teams leave yesterday and this afternoon 2 18-wheelers pulled into our property with only the kids here to unload them. It reminded me of the 7 dwarfs as they whistled while they worked.

9/2. Second Court sent an 11 year old then the police brought a 4 month old and then Ministerio Publico brought us another 11 year old. Both 11 year olds had horrible scars. We had invited to area schools to come and play a round robin soccer tournament here. So it was a busy day.

9/3 The foundation for the baby dorm is being poured by hand. 9/5 was moving day as 55 teenage girls moved into the new dorm. But an hour later John and Brennen noticed water flowing everywhere so they had to remove a wall to get to the problem. John is a plumber so God had this in control. Five abandoned children arrived late tonight.

9/4 Two Indian girls arrived covered with scars and bruises. They speak little Spanish so we had to have some of the older children who speak that Mayan dialect translate for us.

9/9 The government called me to ask how many babies can we care for. As I was on the phone the police arrived with an 11 year old, a 5 year old and a 2 year old.  Two hours later two 9 year olds and a 2 year old arrived.  We now have 26 in the baby dorm.

9/10 How about 7 children ages 12, 8, 7, 6,4, 3 and 2 years old all arriving at the same time?
