Spiritual gifts

The death toll is at 62 with hundreds injured. Casa is safe but praying for the families near the volcano is something we all can do. Schools and government offices are closed. The eruptions have stopped.

Three days of national mourning has been declared. Our state, Sacatepequez, is one of three states affected. The children swept for hours to remove ash from the property. If it goes into the drains it hardens and will clog the drains.

Our children took up an offering of money and clothing and food was purchased to help the homeless.

Casa is safe as are all the children. The airport is scheduled to open today so the worst is passed. So it is safe for the teams scheduled to come to Casa.

Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit are the first two gifts from God. The third gift is actually Spiritual Gifts. Romans 1:11 says, “For I long to see you, that I might impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end that you may be established”. Spiritual gifts are given to us so that we will be established in the Word. It is to keep us from ignorance.

Rick Warren says, “God gave me a gift, not for me but for you, and God gave you a gift, not for you but for me. If you do not use your gift, you are depriving me; if I do not use my gift, I am robbing you.” I Corinthians 12:4 “Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit”.

The fourth gift is salvation which is the gift of God Himself”. Romans 5:15 “But not as the offence, so also is the free gift”. Romans 5:16 “And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification”.

Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not by works lest any man shall boast”.
