more attentiveness

To demonstrate to us what attentiveness is Jesus God; second He was attentive to His parents and thirdly He was attentive to His conscience.

Fourth, He listened to His elders. Luke 2:46-47 says, “And it came to pass, that after three days they found Him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them and asking them questions. And all that heard Him were astonished and amazed”. This scripture indicates that Jesus asked many questions and then waited for the answers. This is our example of attentiveness.

Fifth, Jesus listened to the rulers. In John 3:1-21 we have the great dialog between Jesus and Nicodemus where Jesus listened to his questions before telling Him of how He would be lifted up. We cannot just preach at people. Nicodemus had deep spiritual questions and Christ listened before speaking.

Sixth, Jesus listened to employers. Just as the story is told in Matthew 20 concerning the men who were hired in the field Jesus told a number of parables concerning laborers and their employers. It is our obligation to listen to those in authority over us.
