Sunday the baby dorm had an excursion to a park near Casa. They played and had food for over four hours.
Jim Baker, missionary to Mexico, called as he was here in Guatemala. We are the same age and have been ministering in our respective callings all of these years.
You and I can never really be attentive to others until we learn to be attentive to God. Just think about it! If you can learn to listen to God whom you have not seen than how much more can you can be attentive to those whom you can see? It is imperative to spend time with God. Matthew 6:6 says, “But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou has shut the door, pray to thy Father which sees in secret; and thy Father which sees in secret shall reward you openly. God wants to be alone with us.
I have heard it said that when God turns His face Upon, He is pleased with our motives and purposes in seeking Him. Psalm 67:1 says “God be merciful unto us and bless us and cause His faith to shine upon us”. Psalm 27: says, “When thou saidst , seek you My face, My heart said unto thee, Thy face Lord will I seek”.
To seek His face and be attentive to Him we must remove the thoughts that distract us from Him. God has a way of correcting us in prayer where we know what should be received and what should be rejected from our own thoughts.
Attentiveness is listening to the word of God because He speaks to us through the Bible. Revelations 1:3 says, “Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein”. God even says in I Peter 2:2 that we should want the Word as much as a baby wants milk.
Meet with God early in the day. Mark 1:35 “Jesus rose up a great while before day”
