Showing diligence

Our board will be coming in beginning Tuesday for our annual meeting.

Remember to pray for more staff for us here at Casa. We need house parents and we need someone who can care for the visitors. And do not forget we need someone to watch the dorm for Walt and Randi when they are in the states.

First, we saw that we should show diligence. Second, we show diligence in obeying conscience. Proverbs 4:23 “Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life”. We have to constantly be aware of what goes into our hearts. This means guarding myself against reading or hearing the world’s wisdom.

Pilate gave testimony of Christ’s diligence to His conscience when he said, “I find no fault in Him”.

Third, we are to show diligence to civil authorities. Deuteronomy 24:8 “Observe diligently, and do according to all that the priests the Levites (civil authorities) shall teach you: as I commanded them, so you shall observe to do”. God is responsible for the actions of civil authority. By our obedience we demonstrate our faith that God is over government. Jesus encouraged diligence to the government when He told Peter to render unto Caesar what is due to Caesar and render unto God the things that are God’s.

Fourth, we are to show diligence to our employers. Remember diligence means to love earnestly. Do you remember the parable of the talents given to workers. This is Christ telling us how to live on the job.
