What an awesome result! Fernando and Anna are dorm parents here and he has been working for years as a computer programmer in Guatemala, Mexico and Honduras. He has resigned his job and is starting his own company. I am so proud of him. So pray that God will give him many clients. Also pray for Anna because she will be in charge of the dorm alone.

Diligent or lazy? God expects that we live a life of diligence. The Institute in Basic Life Principles defines diligence as welcoming each task as a special assignment from the Lord and using all my energies to accomplish it. Webster defines diligence as the steady application of effort to accomplish a task.

God expects us to exert myself to fulfill what is undertaken without any unnecessary delay. The word diligence comes from the Latin word diligio which means “to love earnestly”. Colossians 3:23 “And whatsoever you do, do heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men”.

One of the Hebrew words for diligence is (shaw-khar) which literally means “to be up early at a task”. We should be eager to do whatever God tells us to do. God confirms the rewards of diligence in Proverbs 22:29. “Seest thou a man diligent in his business? He shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before men”.

We should show diligence to God. Deuteronomy 6:17 “You shall diligently keep the commandments of the Lord your God, and His testimonies, and His statutes, which He has commanded thee”. We should love to obey His Word as we have seen in Colossians 3:23.
