This was a lazy day. We walked the mall as we do each day. We watched videos by Priscilla Shirer on the life of Gideon.
Our ex-chairman of the board, Wes, called and it was great to catch up with him.
This Sunday we will be at Fayette Baptist in Somerville, Tn. We will stop by and see Josue’ and Estella in Jackson. It will be 6 hours of driving round trip.
An elderly widow, restricted in her activities, was eager to serve Christ. After praying about this, she realized that she could bring blessing to others by playing the piano. The next day she placed this small ad in the Oakland Tribune: “Pianist will play hymns by phone daily for those who are sick and despondent–the service is free.” The notice included the number to dial. When people called, she would ask, “What hymn would you like to hear?” Within a few months her playing had brought cheer to several hundred people. Many of them freely poured out their hearts to her, and she was able to help and encourage them.
It only takes a little mental preparation to think of ways we can be useful to other people. We should be used of God to minister to those who are shut in or in jail or sick or whatever other need they may have. You could even start your own on-line or on-telephone prayer ministry praying for those who have needs. Make the wisest use of what time God has given you on this earth.
