Defeat to victory 1

Malcolm drove us to the Guatemalan Embassy in Houston only for it to be closed. I had to have papers authenticated from Baton Rouge for Sebastian. I Spoke in Spanish to a cleaning lady & she found the lady I needed and the papers were legalized. Only God!!!!

All through the Word we see that there were men and women who turned defeat into victory. Today we have trials on the outside or temptations on the inside. But through faith in Jesus we can be victorious.

James 1:2-8 gives us 4 words to overcoming our trials. They are Count, Know, Let and Ask.

1:2 says “Count it all joy when you fall into various trials”. The word used is “when” not “if”. It is certain that humanity will experience trials. Sickness, acidents and disappointments are some. But because we are Christians we will suffer other trials. Satan is fighting us and the world hates us.

The Apostles (Acts 5:41) counted it joy as did Paul in Romans 5:3 as well as other Christians in I Peter 1:6-8.

The first step to triumphing over our trials is to thank God and adopt a joyful attitude. This is not my natural character. I have to will myself to thank God for trials. I want to get out of them quickly.
