Count your blessings

What a great day! I preached in the morning & showed the power point in the evening. We had lunch with the pastor & friends

.

Walt & Randi had hot dogs for their dorm for Independence Day“Count your blessings, name them one by one. See what God has done” is one of the greatest of old hymns that I have always loved to sing. It is a song that we need to take to heart.

Too often people think they deserve what they have. They believe it is their hard work that has caused them to be blessed. But it is the Lord who gives us the opportunity to get wealth.

Everything that we have comes from God. He gives us knowledge, talent, health and the job we hold. David wanted to build a temple so he took an offering from the people. His response to that offering puts most of us to shame.

In I Chronicles 29:14 he says “But who am I and who are my people that we should be able to give so generously as this? Everything comes from you and we have given you only what comes from your own hand”.

You need to understand that all we have comes from Him alone! Martin Luther said, “There are three conversions necessary: the conversion of the heart, mind and purse.

Count them and see the many blessings you have around you.
