I John 2:17 says, “This world will pass away”. Colossians 3:2 says, “Set your affections on things above and not below”. One reason we have trouble and possibly you do also is that we do look beyond the moments of today. I have to look beyond today. I shared a list of names yesterday of young adults who are each taking a baton from me as they run their races. I cannot run their race.

God has created man, animals, birds and fish as well as dozens of others areas of creation and yet only man can see the unseen. It is foolish to live like a bird who only thinks of today’s food and nest. We need to look beyond today. Today is not all there is.

We have been chosen out of this world and into eternity. My love should transcend this world and love Him Who is eternal. I love my life and the many children who have passed through the gates and my heart. But at the same time I love the thought of leaving this world and walking into His presence.
