A very busy day of catching up with Sebastian and folks. We are pretty tired.

David dies at age 70 but before he dies he names Solomon to be his replacement as king of Israel.

David lived a life of contrasts. He was deeply spiritual yet destroyed many of his enemies. He wrote poems and gang to God yet committed adultery. He was loyal to Saul even when Saul was attempting to kill him. At the same time he treated women as only objects to be used. He led a nation but he was a lousy father. He failed terribly as a father.

You and I have the same nature as David. Temptations come upon all men. God is never looking for perfection because no man can be perfect. God just looks to see if we are growing as Christians by doing what we should do and trying to live as He wants us to.
