What do we give up?

Tonight was our vigilia of praise, prayer, preaching and dramas. An optical surgical team will look at 6 of our children
as well as Patty and Olga and decide if they will do surgery on Monday. The Americans have done an excellant job on walls for the dialysis unit so we are ready for the plumber.

Paul tells us that we are to put off the weights that prevent us from running a race.
Philippians 3:7 But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ.
8 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,o the end.

When we get changed our lives change dramatically. Of course, how dramatic depends on the life you had before you were saved.

However, what did I give up? Nothing!! Paul tells us it was all a loss for the cause of Christ meaning that he did not give up anything at all as compared to the life of a Christian.

The world tries to tell you that you are missing out. But the fulfillment of walking daily with Christ makes everything else so minor and unimportant and even unnecessary.

Everyday is a joy. The past is gone so do not glorify it. The future is not here so do not worry about it. Live one day at a time and see what a joy that is.
