Tears of separation is our 11th and final tear after looking at the tears of a baby, tears of concern over our loved ones living without Christ, tears of disappointment, bereavement, sympathy, for the oppressed, sacrifice, supplication and tears of joy lead us to the tears of our own brokenness over our sins.
Oh how my heart aches for Chad, Becky, Tanya and Crissy and my grandchildren as well as our one great granddaughter! Separation is soul devastating isn’t it? The death of one we love or the separations we feel when we leave loved ones to return to Guatemala are separations that burn our hearts.
Jonathon and David felt that same separation as spiritual brothers and we know that Ruth wept when her sister chose to stay in Moab.
When I first came to Guatemala all my children traveled with us except for Tony. I remember him in the rear view mirror as we drove off from Lake Charles knowing it would be at least 2 years before we would meet again. How did I manage it? Read on!
PSALM 30:5 “Weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning”. This is a Psalm deep in my heart. I have quoted it and used it on multiple occasions. Jesus tells us that no man can still our joy. (John 16:20-22). The final promise is found in Revelations 7:17 “God shall wipe away all tears”.
