Adam and Anthony
This photo of Adam holding Anthony brings the best and worst memories. Anthony died soon after his 5th birthday. He had kidney failure and everyone wanted to hold him. But no one carried him more than Adam.
He was so sick that he would just lay his head on Adam´s shoulder and when Adam saw me, he would whisper in Anthony´s ear and he him say “Go Tide”. (Alabama). When he died, I looked everywhere for an Alabama shirt. The dialysis building was built in Anthony´s honor. At the funeral two men had to hold me up to preach the sermon as I was totally broken.
The doctor called me about another child, and I just did not want the pain. But a teenage girl said “Don´t let her die alone without Jesus.” That was the birth of the dialysis ministry that has treated dozens of children all of which were saved. Casa gave them love and peace and though their lives were short they knew Jesus loved them and the Americans who helped us care for them.
Saint Augustine said, “You have made us for Yourself, and our hearts are restless until they find their rest in You.” So many people fill their lives with activities and food or drink because life without Christ is an unfulfilled life.
Hebrews 9:14 says of the Holy Spirit, “How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the ETERNAL SPIRIT offered Himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God.” The Bible makes it clear that the Holy Spirit guided and empowered Jesus throughout His public ministry. This is the only place in the Bible where the phrase “ETERNAL SPIRIT” appears.
