Maria Arzu

In 1992 Maria Arzu was the wife of Guatemala President Alvaro Arzu when she came to dedicated the opening of our new baby dorm. She and I had a great working relationship as she was head of all homes and schools in Guatemala.
She helped me bring in dozens of 18-wheelers filled with building materials, Christmas gifts, food and everything we needed in the early days. I, in turn, was able to bring to her office hundreds of and thousands of school supplies, desks, etc.
Sadly, her husband died from diabetes.
She spoke to the children about salvation and education encouraging the young people to take advantage of being at Casa.
The team had an outreach with Hilmar.
CT Studd said, “Only one life, twill soon past, only what is done for Christ will last.” We all have one life to live. There are no “do overs”. We all sin and we all make errors, but we must rely on His grace, pick ourselves up and move on. Christ will never not forgive if we are sincere.
John 15:5 says, “I am the VINE, you are the branches: He that abides in me and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for the imagery Jesus uses is a grape vine. Off the vine there are smaller sprouts. These sprouts (us) cannot live without the VINE. In the same we as His children are to stay attached to Jesus. We are to stay rooted and grounded in Him.
