Please The Right People

Dottie and Jackie doing therapy outside.
I want to tell you a story. When I was pastoring in Lake Charles, Louisiana something happened to change my life.
A man came to me early in the morning and said, “We are leaving the church because you only care about rich people.” Later in the very same day I picked up the mail, and a man had written me these words. “We are leaving the church because you only care about poor people.”
I was dumb founded. I called Brother Holton who was a mighty man of God and he came to my house. I Said “Brother Holton how can I please everyone?” He did not hesitate. His reply was “Mike if you please God you will please the right people.”
I have always remembered those deep words of wisdom. So I have tried to always please God even if some people are not happy.
The students are in the midst of midterm exams.
Estela, chairperson of our board arrives today.
“Everything is possible for one who believes.”
“We preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumbling block, and unto the Greeks foolishness; but unto them who are called both Jews and Greeks, Christ the POWER OF GOD, and the wisdom of God.” I Corinthians 1:23-24. To the nonbeliever Jesus appears to be weak and helpless on the cross. To them it was a sign of weakness not strength. Jesus had power to still a storm, cast out demons, raise the dead, heal bodies and minds. He could easily say the Word and left the Jews and Greeks behind. But where nails could not hold Him, love for us did!!!
