My Brother Jim

My Brother Jim

This is a photograph of Jim, Dottie´s brother who threatened me when I first met him. He showed me a pistol and said, “You take my sister away from the Lord and I will find you.”

Over the years we became closer than brothers. He replaced my only two natural brothers who had died. He was an awesome friend. He died when he was not that old due to his Viet Nam service. I believe it was agent orange.

We will have a breakfast Monday morning for the staff. Dottie loves the fellowship.

Yesterday I preached on Spiritual Growth. We all start as babies when we get saved. Dottie had a blessed Mother´s Day.

“God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8

Hebrews 9:15 says that Jesus “and for this cause, He is the MEDIATOR OF THE NEW TESTAMENT, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.”

Testament is another word for covenant or agreement. The first Covenant of God with His people was formalized in the Old Testament times. God promised to be their guide and lead them through the wilderness. The night before His death, Jesus declared that He was implementing this new covenant that had been promised by the Father. This new covenant will never be replaced.
