Dottie was a cut up

We celebrated the closing ceremony with Centro Walker, marking one year of partnership with them helping with the therapy for our children. Today we also have the closing ceremony for the children who participated in the Transforming Futures program for this year.

For 5 days in a row Dottie wakes me up and ask me if I have the plane tickets and what time are we leaving. The two places she mentions is Baton Rouge and Opelousas where my sisters lived. Virginia is in Baton Rouge, but Charlotte passed away 2 years ago.

My son, Tony, and I went for haircuts and a visit. It cost him greatly to move here over 20 years ago to help me with Dottie following her car accident, but he has been a blessing.

Hebrews12:9. “We have had fathers of our flesh (human fathers) which corrected us, and we gave them reverence (respected them): shall we much rather be in subjection unto the FATHER OF SPIRITS) and live.” This is one of those places in the Bible where the addition of one word makes all the difference in the meaning.

Rather than Father of Spirits the NIV says THE FATHER OF OUR SPIRITS. It makes it clear that the writer of Hebrews was contrasting physical fathers with God as our Father in a spiritual sense. Earthly fathers discipline their children and teach them right from wrong and respect for others. God, our spiritual Father teaches us to obey Him as the ultimate authority, to follow his commands, and to present our lives as living sacrifices.
