Education

Dottie in 11th grade.

As you know most college students in Guatemala attend classes only on weekends. This is because of their need to work to supply what the family needs.

When Oscar graduated as an architect there were 7 graduates. All six of his classmates were over 40 years of age. Wealthy children can attend classes daily.

I graduated in 3 years with my bachelor’s degree and was teaching in California at age 21. That is not possible for children here who do not have a wealthy family.

The students here are off this weekend with finals coming the next two Saturdays. They have such a tremendous sense of accomplishment when they receive those diplomas. I know that I had the same feeling myself when I graduated and I want them to have that feeling.

Jesus is known as “HOLY ONE OF ISRAEL” in Isaiah 41:14 “Fear not thou worm Jacob, and ye men of Israel; I will help thee saith the Lord and thy redeemer, the Holy one of Israel.” This is a most prominently title used for God by the prophet Isaiah emphasizing His absolute moral purity,

His covenant relationship with Israel, and His role as both judge and redeemer. The title conveys that God is set apart from all creation, powerful and yet personally involved with His people, and is a reminder of both His awesome majesty and His plan for salvation
