The Love of Jesus

Makko is an excellent Bible teacher and Biblical Planner. The children are doing major Christian art projects, memorizing scripture and praising with zeal. He and his wife, our director Ali, are doing a wonderful job.

It is amazing how short the months get as we age. August is about gone. But oh, how sweet life is when you have a truck load of memories.

Elizabeth Elliot said, “The greatest gifts of my life have also entailed the greatest suffering.” My greatest sufferings have been in the deaths of our three children and the dozens of children who have died in Casa. There is no pain like the loss of a child.

All these children were great gifts to Dottie and me. Total joy when they entered our lives but total sorrow when they were taken from us. But the best is yet to come as indescribable joy when we meet in heaven.

A tree fell across the highway coming up the mountain from the city so some of our staff could not get to Casa for an extra hour.

MIQWEH YISRAEL is the HOPE OF ISRAEL. Hope is the great stabilizer as it steadies us in times of doubt and difficulty, not because we know that everything will turn out well as we want but because we know that God is trustworthy. Hope is what helps us stay on course in every circumstance.

Biblical hope finds its roots in God and in His goodness, mercy and power. You exercise your hope when you endure patiently. We nurture our hope when we read and study God´s Word.  Hebrews 6:19 says that we have this hope as an anchor of the soul, firm and secure.
