New children

Healthier days
We were so blessed to receive 4 new children ages 10, 7, 5, 1. Thank you Jesus.
Pastor Teddie brought me a book that I wish I could get into the hands of every Christian. It is entitled “Suffering is Never for Nothing” by Elizabeth Elliot. If you know Christian history you will remember her husband, Jim, was murdered along with four other missionaries in Ecuador at age 29. Elizabeth would live over 15 years with the tribe that killed her husband.
She has had a life of pure demonstration of forgiveness and prayer. I always admired her, but this book makes me want to honor her memory. I am sure that I will be quoting her in my updates to you. She said, “The cross is the gateway to joy.”
She goes on to say, “It is through the deepest suffering that God has taught me the deepest lessons.” I can tell you that that statement is a truth in my life.
The deaths of our children both our 3 children born in the USA as well as the more than 50 who have died in Guatemala and now Dottie´s terrible physical trauma has taught me so much. God has not left me nor forsaken me and one day we all will be in heaven with Christ living in total joy and peace.
Another name for God is “HASHEM” which is “THE NAME”. Philippians 2:9-10 says that God has exalted Jesus and given him “The Name that is above every name”. In I Kings 8:28-29 says, “My Name shall be there.” The Bible speaks of Solomon´s temple in Jerusalem as the place where God´s Name would dwell.
God´s name is associated with His glory, power, holiness, protection, trust and love. To call on His Name is to call on His presence. To act in His name is to act with His authority. Jesus in the Lord´s prayer said “Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be “THY NAME”.
I Kings 9:3 says “I have heard the prayer and plea you have made before me; I have consecrated this temple, which you have built, by putting MY NAME there forever. My eyes and heart will always be there.”
