God has watched over me my entire life and has guided me to pursue His purpose since retiring from teaching at 65. Both my son and daughter are married, and I have two grandkids, Melissa and Olivia. My Casa journey began in July of 2014 when I visited with a mission team. Mike Clark shared his vision for a three-story Dialysis Clinic for the campus and I wanted to help.
Since arriving at Casa in October of 2014, I’ve been able to use my B.A. degree in industrial arts from the University of Northern Iowa and my 52 years of woodwork and carpentry to manage the woodshop, repair and build furniture, cabinets and much more – all while teaching shop skills to Casa kids.
Perhaps my favorite thing about being on the Casa team is teaching children what God helped me learn in my life’s work. I encourage anyone interested in Casa to just come and visit and see how God changes your life forever.
