...well, almost. Regular classes ended yesterday. Our sixth graders, however, still had their special math/science classes today. Most of our Aleluya girls will have remediation classes for one week. Then school will be out! Uniforms have been collected. Today I will go through them to see what needs repair or replacement, what may be missing, and what just needs to be washed and stored until January. We have 8 girls potentially moving from Aleluya to Basico, so it's a given that they will need new uniforms. Some of their current clothes may be able to replace worn out items of the girls still in Aleluya.
Now that school is (almost) out, I have planned a Minute-to-Win-It tournament for the girls. Each dorm room makes up a team. Members of each team will take turns trying to complete a given challenge in one minute to score points for their team. The team with the most points at the end of the tournament will be treated to McDonald's (or other food treat of their choice). I demonstrated the challenges to the girls last night and they got a good chuckle out of my attempts, but I hope that this also created interest in the various challenges.
Please pray that the children will use their free time over the vacation wisely, but also have some much-deserved fun time!
